Most of the devices we use depend on the charger. Without it, it is impossible to use a smartphone or tablet if its battery is completely empty. And it is always preferable to charge the device with its original charger cable. If the cable or power adapter is defective, it may have a negative effect on the condition of the battery. On the other hand, it may take longer than expected to recharge the device. That is why it is always advisable to use the appropriate cables and adapters for your device, as otherwise it may actually damage your battery in the long run. To get around this problem, we suggest that you test the health of the chargers you are using via the Ampere app, an app that assesses the current your battery receives in simple steps. The app was created to help you check whether the chargers you use are healthy and suitable for your devices. The app is available for free on the Play Store, and once downloaded, you can start using it on your smartphone or tablet and check the health of the cables or chargers.

In the first step you will test the Ampere app using your device's original cable and adapter. In this process you will connect your original charger, launch the app and wait 10 seconds to see the current your battery is receiving, the result you get will be a benchmark for other chargers you are testing.

When you get the result in the previous step, you can disconnect your original charger, and replace it with the charger or cable whose health you want to assess. If the result shows lower current than your original charger, your device will take longer to charge.

The value displayed by the Ampere app translates to mA or milliamperes, and to indicate that chargers that are in poor condition generally have a lower current, which also means that the lower the value of the electric current, the longer the charging time.
